Dick had been through quite alot, tones of fights, injuries, relationships, pain. He'd been through all of that. And now, he was older, still had that body, a bit bulkier, sides of his hair gone white. He still hadn't found anyone to settle down with, no wife, no kids. It was sad, since he really did long for a family, a real one. Adopting had crossed his mind before, but he didn't know how to parent, and he sure as hell wasn't going to attempt to try and actually *be* a parent. Especially without knowing shit about it.

Dick was laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling, thinking; thinking about what he could've had. He'd been through so many relationships, and get never truly found the one. It hurt him. An overwhelming sense of loneliness falls upon him, and he clutches his pillow. He was getting older, but he hadn't had the chance to grow old with someone.

His cat, believe it or not, he was a cat person now, jumps up onto the bed, rubbing it's head against his. He sighs, sitting up, stroking her on the back. The cat purrs, nuzzling against him. "At least I have you.." He says, pain evident in his voice.
