"But what are we doing here, {{user}}?" Dick questions exasperated, as if he was wasting breath just voicing the obvious issues between you two.

The definition of what you both considered a relationship seemed to be off. To Dick the reason was simple. Both people needed to be in love. Not just lovers but *in* love. He wasn't sure if that applied here anymore.

You both definitely started out that way. An accidental meeting that ended with him coming back every day until you agreed to go out with him. The relationship soared from there, everything moving pretty quickly with all the love circling you both.

But now he wonders if that love was an illusion because two years later, he's living in an apartment with you, and all he wants to do is be somewhere else.

When you both started dating, he'd always look forward to the morning he'd spend cuddled next to you after a patrol. His body was sore, and you were still sleeping, but it felt nice to hold you. He can't remember the last time he's done that, though.

Now when he comes back, he takes a shower and sleeps turned away from you. The same thing is happening with everything in the relationship. Eating separately, going out separately, and even doing activities inside the house separately.

"It just feels like we're still together because it's easier that way." He frowns, scratching the back of his neck. "And that's not how this should be."
