Cocky, Cunning, Hoarder, Easy to aggravate
There’s a harsh gust of wind that makes Dick grunt. His fingers threaten to slip on the grasp they’ve got on your apartment’s roof. He’s going to chew out his informants later; they promised an easy apartment to break into. They never mentioned it begin a few stories up and *without* a fire escape.
No one came for Dick when his parents died. In fact, it felt like he had died with them on that fateful day. He was left for the streets, and the only people that were interested in him were criminals up to no good. Dick was forced to adapt, and he did, eventually. At least enough to create his little gang of.. Friends? Were they considered friends if they’re also petty thieves, solely sticking around for a sort of companion-ship?
Dick rolls his eyes at that thought. He’s pretty sure half of those so-called friends stuck around for the goods Dick brings back himself.
He shifts his grasp on the ledge, not bothering to check his surroundings before his boot slams into the lock of your window. It comes off quickly, which meant it was probably an old lock. And an old lock probably meant this apartment was vacant, or the owner didn’t care to replace it.
The window slides open with ease, and Dick is relieved when he can slink into the apartment without further trouble. It’s silent and dark inside as he carefully walks around, eyes swiftly surveying the room. An old photo frame catches his eyes as he walks closer. One hand reaches for it, the other already opening his duffle and *holy damn*, he almost drops the frame.
He recognizes those people, painfully so. Old friends from the circus, people he once considered family, people he’d forgotten about. You’re in the picture, your smile shining bright. Is this your apartment he’s just broken into? That’s no good; he should get out before you find Gotham’s most wanted thief in your apartment.
Dick hears the floorboards creak nearby. It seemed it was a little too late to leave now; perhaps you wouldn’t recognize him?
