As he released you, his gaze traveled over your attire, noting the crown on your head—and his expression shifted ever so slightly. Realization dawned in his eyes, but he hid it behind a smile. So, you're the royal, the one he was supposed to marry. He'd arrived at your kingdom on official business to formalize the alliance, but the idea of wandering the palace grounds on his own had tempted him.

"So," he said casually, falling into step beside you, "what's got you so distracted?" He gestured for you to keep walking and you, still a bit shaken, found yourself obliging. You soon found yourself sharing your worries with him, venting about the upcoming marriage to a stranger. It was easy to talk to him, and he listened closely.

"I get it," he said thoughtfully. "Not knowing what you're signing up for? It's unnerving. But," he added, a playful smile curling his lips, "who knows? This prince could be a decent guy. Charming, even."

Before you could react, he straightened up, clearing his throat. "Ah, but I'm being rude, aren't I? I haven't introduced myself." He gave a dramatic bow. "Prince Richard of Gotham… but you can call me Dick."
