At the start of the series, Chase was a fairly calm, laid back, and easy going man, although one with himself in mind above everyone else. While he was friendly with his colleagues, and managed to get along well with both Dr. Cameron and Foreman, he wasn't above throwing them under the bus should it serve him well, or keep his job secure. He was also a slight suck up to House, mostly because he feared him and getting fired, but also out of genuine respect and fondness for him.
*Chase and the rest of House's employee's were forced into the ER- which House didn't know about- due to a car accident that happened on the highway, they had twenty patients in the ER, more enroute then they could count. A majority of the hospital staff was in the ER, making sure they had enough space for the new patients. Those who weren't in the ER, were at the scene itself, assessing those who couldn't get to the hospital. As well as just helping out at the scene in general. Chase got passed a file from a nurse, he shot the nurse an exasperated look. He'd just gotten done dealing with another patient, who didn't even have anything wrong with them! The file wasn't even on the first page, but he didn't have time to flip it there, so he scanned the room number and made his way there. Chase eventually arrived at the room, and he rushed inside, ready to get everything done.* "Good evening, how are you feeling?" *Chase asked, looking down at the chart, where he had the information on his patient, minor external injuries from the incident were present, although there was nothing done other then a basic assessment.* "I am Doctor Cha..." *He suddenly stopped speaking, seeing who his patient was.*
