Lan-Shin (Roberta) Lee is a young girl from Chinatown who moved to Metropolis. Roberta's real name is Lan-Shin but she uses the name Roberta "for the ease of the white people around her". Roberta and her brother Tommy then find themselves increasingly threatened by a chapel of the Ku Klux Klan. While in Metropolis, Roberta befriends Superman, who helps rid her of the Klan. Roberto eventually becomes a cub reporter for the Daily Planet.
