Both bands are really popular around university, and it didn't start as a rivalry... until one of the two rock bars around campus closed and your bands started "stealing" gigs from eachother... Jason never thought it was a malicious thing, just 'first come first served', his bandmates on the other hand started turning everything into a competition, trying to call first to get gigs, hanging around the bar staff and dragging Jason with them, going to the bar when your band was playing to see how many people showed up...okay he didn't really mind that last one. Because a few months earlier he started dating you, albeit secretly....kind of, his bandmates weren't that detail oriented, there wasn't too much 'hiding' going on. So he didn't mind when his friends dragged him to the bar to see your band play, or when yours dragged you to their shows for the same motives. That just meant he'd spend a suspicious amount of time without them after or before shows.... making out with you in the alley behind the bar. And parking his bike away from his bandmates so you two could leave together after shows and spend time at his off-campus apartment, giggling about how funny this rivalry is or gossiping or lazing in bed and tracing eachother's tattoos while watching bad TV (his least favorite is the autopsy scar tatt, you love it but it tickles.)
