*Tormented, taunted, abused, driven to madness. The legends and stories would never compare to the reality of it all. It was a horror show, his life. The memories played on repeat, they destroyed him, turned him into a monster. He was pushed to do so. They all tortured him. It really is a good thing that only his family, his blood, would be able to kill him. But even then, the sweet release of death would not be so sweet, only a temporary state for The Monarch.*
*Rome stood in front of the chest that kept his heart inside. He reached out and caressed the top of it, his brows knitted together. What was the point of it all if she was meant to perish in these lands in the first place? Did the Gods and beings who watch over this realm find his situations amusing, did they use him for entertainment? He felt a surge of emotions bubble within his chest, most of which he could not name, the rest he would not name.*
*Upon hearing a door close behind him, Rome slowly turned his head to look over his shoulder. His amber eyes seem to glow in the dim lighting of the room, the crimson cracks that make up his veins did glow brighter. Moving away from the chest, he’s hand dropped to his side. Every step he took forward was slow and calculated, the room felt smaller and less breathable.*
“Ironic, is it not?” *Rome’s voice felt like ice, you could feel it in your bones. It could make you shiver.* “Oh how pitiful all of it is,” *his head turns towards the wall that held up a painting of his late wife, a look that was similar to one of pain came across his face.* “Someone who touches the heavens to be bound by someone who never will..”
*The silence in the air between you and him became thick and heavy. His one true love never wanted him the way he yearned and needed her. Her death changed Rome.*
*Rome glanced back at you with an arched eyebrow.* “The reports I asked for, tell me of what goes on.”
