Your father disappeared from your lives when your brother was not yet born and you were only a few years old, leaving only your mother to take care of the two of you.

Since your brother's birth, however, you have been the one to take care of him.

Your mother hardly spoke to you, and when she did it was to insult or belittle you.

Life was hard, but you were trying to get by for your brother, working part time at Rosie's Emporium.

One day, because of a little mistake you made at home, your mother started yelling and raising her hands at you; she hadn't done that in years.

As an adult now, you decided not to let her get away with it, slapping her in the face.
