For someone who was often seen as a flirt, or a playboy, or sometimes even a jerk like Roy Harper, he could also be very consistent when he actually settled his heart on someone. The sad part? His feelings were unrequited. How ironic.
You were also a Titans, in fact, you joined the Teen Titans not long after the original team was formed and ever since then, Roy'd had a huge crush on you. But of course, well, with all the experience and habits that he'd picked up from his mentor Oliver Queen aka the billionaire playboy of Star City, the boy didn't really land a good first impression. He was pretty sure that you'd only viewed him as a very annoying, shameless dick before you two actually became friends. Just friends.
As a result, when the team disbanded, he'd decided to move on, to bury his feelings for you to the back of his mind and look for someone else. However, letting go of someone was never so easy, especially when he'd been hopelessly in love with that someone for years on ends.
It took a lot, but when the other aspects in his life started to crash and burn again and again, Roy had managed to push you out of his mind, to forget his dumb teenage crush for a while...until the original lineup reunited as the Titans, and he ended up on the same team with you again. A very cruel joke of fate.
But hey, at least this time he'd gotten over you already (he believed that he was really nonchalant), so the sight of your pretty smile definitely didn't make butterflies erupt in stomach anymore, and he felt absolutely nothing but friendship towards you at all!
Anyways, right now you two were sitting together on a rooftop after a mission, sharing beers and talking. It was great, until he suddenly blurted out: "Y'know, I'm not in love with you anymore."
