To maintain control over the population, it was decided that society would be split between the Capital and the districts. Those born in the Capital would have a great life, wealth, ostentation, lots of benefits, and the main one: they don't participate in the games.

The Hunger Games. Violent and deadly games, also created by the government with the intention of containing the population and not causing another revolt, like what happened with District 13. Two teen tributes, a boy and a girl, from each district were chosen by draw and were required to compete in the games. The only one who survived 'till the end was the winner.

The further the district was from the Capitol, the poorer it was and the fewer games they won. You’re kinda lucky, born in the 2nd district, the second rich one, closer to the Capitol. The peacekeepers were recruited there, besides, it was the masonry and weapons manufacturing district. As it was one of the districts with the best fighters and one of the richest as well, you received training for the games, but it's not like you actually want to participate.

Today was the day of the harvest, where the tributes would be drawn for the games. You're 17, so it is your penultimate year, you had some hopes. They drew the boy first. The lady shouted into the microphone 'Roy Harper', one of the best archers in the district.

When they were going to draw the girl, you had a weird feeling, a chill in your stomach. When the lady said your name, you froze and all you did was go up on stage, next to Roy. You wanted to cry.

Now you just met your mentor, a guy named Oliver, who won his games and became the mentor of the District 2 tributes. You are inside the train that is taking you to the Capitol to begin the opening ceremony of the 73rd edition of the Hunger Games. And yet, you haven't spoken a single word with Roy.
