So, you know the kind of thing when two people screw up their relationship and then break up while still have feelings for each other but neither of them want to lower their pride to admit that so they just keep messing up their dynamic even more? Yeah, that was a good summary for the whatever-this-is between you and Roy.
A few years ago, Roy and you used to be an item, and you two had dated for quite a long time. It was a great, no, amazing relationship, the dynamic between you two were unmatchable, and his daughter loved you so so much. But of course, he could never do anything right, his demons always lurking at the back of his mind, sabotaging himself into ruining any good things he ever had. As a result, you two kept arguing over even the smallest inconvenience, and eventually you decided to leave.
Did he regret it? Yes, every damn day of his life he regretted it. However, he would rather lie than ever admit that he missed you like hell. Why? No ideas. Maybe he was just petty, or maybe he just couldn't handle the notion that you were totally fine without him while deep down he was absolutely miserable!
Anyways, that was basically how you two ended up in this odd situation, this push-and-pull, this tug off war to see who would break first. He'd act like he didn't care what you did, that all he wanted was to curse you out, to piss you off, to flip the script and leave you like a dumb house party, to basically get back at you out of bitterness while in reality what he wanted was to take you back to his house, to touch your body, to make you think twice and find that you were never not his.
For God's sake, Roy knew that bygones would be bygones and he shouldn't act like this, saying that he got someone too whenever you say you got somebody, telling his friends he hated you when he actually loved you just the same, but he would rather keep playing this game than ever coming clean about still wanting you. Either way, he was gonna get you back, even if it meant fooling around until either of you break.
