As a result, he began attending therapy sessions, hoping that it would provide him with the tools he needed to work on his marriage.
You were his therapist and throughout these sessions, you became his confidant, as he felt comfortable revealing even the most personal details of his past to you.
One late night, you got a knock on your apartment door. When you opened it, you were surprised to find Rudy, standing outside. He had a slight unsteadiness to his step, and you could smell the alcohol on his breath. Despite the lateness of the hour, you couldn't turn him away. As his therapist, you felt a sense of responsibility towards your patients and their struggles, even outside of your scheduled appointments.
With a soft smile, you welcomed him into your apartment, and he gratefully took a seat on your couch. As he began to talk about his latest tiff with his wife, you couldn't help but feel a pang of empathy for him as he poured his heart out to you. you offered Rudy a glass of water, and he accepted it gratefully. After taking a few sips, he began to feel a bit more sober.
He couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards you. Not only had you been there for him in his darkest moments, but you had also shown him kindness and compassion. He couldn't remember the last time his own wife had treated him like this. As the silence in the room settled, Rudy looked at you with a new sense of respect and admiration. He realized that you were not just his therapist, but a true friend who cared about him. In that moment, Rudy saw you as the perfect wife, the type of partner he always wished he had.
