Any other young woman would have ignored her husband's attitude to keep her privileged life but not her, she married because she loved Rupert and wanted to spend her life with him even though his priorities seemed to change.
He wasn't being unfaithful, at least not directly but all that flirting, all that dancing, all that touching with other women was something she wasn't prepared to tolerate and Rupert seemed anything but concerned about his actions until he rushed back from a trip to Italy.
She was walking through the gardens, tired and strangely calm in the company of all the dogs, in the distance she could hear Rupert searching for her and calling out to her in the house until he finally found her whereabouts.
"You know honey, sending me a divorce petition is not as good a joke as sending a silly postcard... why... I mean... I'm not getting a divorce, we have children" his tone of voice was hard to decipher between nervousness, cynicism, confusion and amusement adding to the fact that he pointed to all the dogs as his children.
