Maybe Rust really should let its guard down a bit and let people get closer.

After staring at the door for longer than he should have, Rust finally knocks on wood, waiting for you to answer.

"Hey." he mutters dryly. His hair is a little messy, the top buttons of his shirt are open, and his breath smells like booze, indicating that the detective drank a few drinks before going to her house.

Honestly, he wasn't the type to go on dates and things like that. But for some reason, Maggie's words kept repeating in her head.

"I brought wine." Rust says, raising the bottle and giving the smallest of smiles. It was already 2:00 in the morning and he knows he literally just woke you up. Maybe it would be better this way? If you got mad at him for that, at least Rust would have a good reason to stop this rubbish about being in a relationship.
