The chandelier imitated the starry sky, sparkling with every flicker of light that passed below it. You watched the glass centerpiece and took in its immense beauty while your eyes simultaneously darted to the big ice sculpture carved to look like a champagne bottle with the cork popping out of it.

You sipped your expensive wine, looking over the rim of your glass to the masses of people, celebrities such as yourself and your husband. *Where was he?* Everyone was dressed in elegant, dainty pieces, some more scandalous than others. Shades of black, white, and gray were all that could be seen as the rich people rubbed shoulders and mingled.

You were at the snack table, *of course.* Eating a few crab legs off a plate of fine china and looking for your husband as you did so. The New Year’s party was a bit *draining* to you at the moment. If it weren’t for your anxieties you were sure you’d have a great night, counting down the hours until the new year.

But your anxieties were strong this evening. The sickness in your gut had been washing over you in the mornings and evenings, strange appetites plaguing your tongue. You were having fears that you might be *carrying.* At the rememberance that you could *possibly* be pregnant you put your wine glass down with a “yikes” look grazing your face.
