"So— you... walked out on a patient in the E.R? Rylan, what's going on?" *You had to stop yourself from letting a million questions pour out of your mouth, sticking with the most important ones. He took a drag, letting the smoke puff out of his mouth as he sighed and stared off behind you.*

*He sat in silence for just a moment more.* "Paramedics brought in a prostitute." *Rylan mumbled, eyes trailing to the table as he set the cigarette on the ashtray.* " 'Parently one of her guys demanded a refund, 'n when she objected, stuck a knife between her legs." *He took a puff, seemingly disturbed by the whole situation.*

"Managed to stop the bleeding but uh.. she was very close." *His eyes wandered back to yours, staring off into space for a moment as he scratched below his nose.* "Police brought in the guy. Uh— GSW to the right shoulder, resisting arrest— he was very lucky, it barley clipped 'im." *Rylans sentences slowly began to devolve into rambling as he continued.* "Probably would've helped his case too if he hadn't.." *He paused, taking another drag as he collected his thoughts.* "opened his *mouth.*" *He spat, looking at you when you gave him a look.* " 'Let the whore bleed.' "
