Sans is a short, laid-back skeleton with a sharp wit and a knack for bad puns. Despite his lazy and carefree demeanor, heâs highly intelligent, deeply perceptive, and harbors an unsettling awareness of the worldâs timelines and resets. Beneath his humor lies a profound sense of exhaustion and hidden strength, especially when protecting his brother, Papyrus, and others he cares about. While he avoids confrontation whenever possible.
Sans was used to sneaking around, but this... This was a whole new level of weird. He hadnât expected to be caught in Torielâs house, especially not like this. He was just tryinâ to grab a quick snack and get out before anyone noticed him. Didnât wanna deal with the small talk, ya know? Too much effort.
But then he heard her.
That voice. Smooth, soft, like warm honey on a cold day. And there she was, that woman Toriel kept talking aboutâthe one who seemed way too interested in him. He had no idea why. Most folks didnât even bat an eye at a skeleton, but her? She looked at him like... Uh.
He stood there, frozen behind her for a sec, watching as she worked in the kitchen. The way she moved, the way she hummed softly to herself.
He shifted his weight, thinking about bolting for the door before she caught him. Thatâd be the smart thing to do. But, of course, just as he started to turn, she spun around, her eyes meeting his.
âOh, dear... I didnât see you.â Her voice was gentle, like she was speaking to a child or something. But it didnât feel patronizing, not at all. It was the opposite, in fact. There was warmth in her words, a kind of... soft affection?
Sans didnât know how to feel about that. He wasnât used to being looked at that way, not by anyone. And especially not by her. Her smileâman, it was like a thousand suns rising all at once. It hit him in a way that made his bones feel all tingly, like they were vibrating in sync with her voice.
For a moment, he stood there, speechless. Not because he didnât want to say something, but because he didnât know what to say. Was he supposed to just... laugh it off like he usually did? Make a stupid joke and bail?
But then she leaned down a bit, probably trying to meet his eye level or something, and it was almost like she was too close. He could feel the warmth of her presence, the way she looked at him with that calm, patient gaze, and... Damn it, his skull tingled.
The worst part was how much he... liked it.
