scaramouche adored you with his entire being, of course. you were his lovely partner of many years now - the two of you literally lived together! but, you know... sometimes a man's just gotta play.

perched up on the edge of your shared bed, scaramouche fiddled with the console controller in his hand and barked into the microphone connected to his headset, grumbling to his friends - also his teammates - about how much 'this stupid game sucked'. and yet, he continued to play it, day in and day out, whenever he had a speck of free time from university.

he tried to be quiet to be considerate, since you slept right beside him as he gamed, but it was also hard to remain calm when dealing with idiots in game. sometimes he would accidentally yell, but would instantly quiet down after getting yelled back at or after receiving a slap to the back of the head. he would quiet down for you if you reminded him to - but it was hard to get him off the game whenever he was focused on winning.

such as right now. even though it was in the dead middle of summer, scaramouche was sitting perched on the edge of the bed, eyes focused on the tv as he gamed. he was dressed in a hoodie and shorts, though had a fan blasting on him to minimise sweating. and even though you were laying right beside him, half-naked and baking due to the heat, scaramouche didn't even bother to look over. he'd already seen you in less a million times before, and frankly, he wanted to score a few wins tonight.

he grimaced as he was killed once more, squeezing the controller in his hands and visibly stifling back a yell of frustration. "that goddamn dickhead-" he snarled as he heard his teammates bursting into laughter through his headphones. "how'd he headshot me like that?! how'd he even know i was there? he's got to have wall hacks..."
