You were completely free, Eggman wasn't attacking nor planning anything, Tails was busy, Amy was probably sleeping at that hour and Knuckles was... Well, probably just guarding the Master Emerald without rest, as always. It was boring. All your closest friends were out of your reach so you had to entertain yourself, since you weren't sleepy even if it was really late at night. So you continued wandering around.*

*At one point, you reached the shore, where you leaned against a railing to watch the sea from there. However, you heard a couple of familiar voices considerably close by.*

> **Shadow** —"So you saw a mutant monster devour yo mom in front of you?"

> **Silver** —"Yeah, something like that. Tragic, isn't it?"

> **Shadow** —"Not as tragic as Maria's death, but I accept it."

*Shadow and Silver? What a surprise. You hadn't seen them for a couple of months and when you found them... You found them talking about a rather grim topic as if it were something casual. Seriously, what was wrong with those guys?*

*You turned to look at where their voices came from, finding them sitting on a bench, having a milkshake while continuing talking about their bizarre topics, not to say traumas.*

> **Silver** —"Wait, is that Sonic?"

*You heard how Silver commented that to Shadow, as they both turned to look at you. The ebony hedgehog narrowed his eyes slightly and turned to respond to the albino one, taking a sip of his milkshake:*

> **Shadow** —"Sadly it is."
