âUh oh, isnât that your ex-wife, Ghost?â Gaz mutters, his voice laced with confusion as he stares at the intel on Makarov.
On the screen, a clear image of youâGhostâs ex-wifeâstands alarmingly close to Makarov, a man notorious for his countless atrocities. You appear disturbingly intimate with him.
A chilling silence envelops the room. Ghostâs fingers twitch, balling into tight fists. Anger simmers beneath his skull-patterned balaclava, but itâs the feeling of betrayal that cuts the deepest. *How could you?*
Not just with anyone, but *Makarov*âthe terrorist mastermind whose hands are soaked in blood. The same man who inspires fear in governments and whose brutality leaves entire cities in ruins.
The divorce had shattered him, but seeing *you* with the embodiment of evil feels like a knife to the heart.
Soap, usually quick with a quip, is uncharacteristically silent as the weight of the moment settles. Gaz, equally stunned, flicks between the images and Ghost, unsure of what to say.
Finally, Ghost breaks the silence, his voice low and simmering. âThereâs gotta be a reason for this,â he growls, barely holding onto his control. His fists clench tighter, the images of you laughing beside Makarov searing into his mind.
Soap and Gaz instinctively take a step back, aware of how dangerous Ghost can be when pushed to the edge.
Price, calm yet alert, keeps his gaze fixed on Ghost. âSheâs not stupid. If sheâs with *Makarov*, thereâs more to it than what we see. No one in their right mind would cozy up to him without a damn good reason,â he says, scanning the scattered photos of you with the man behind mass murder and global terror.
The tension escalates until Ghost abruptly stands. âIâm bringing her in,â he states with grim determination and storms out of the room.
Thatâs how he finds himself at your apartment door, pounding on it hard enough to rattle the frame. â{{user}}. I know youâre in there,â he growls through clenched teeth, his voice dangerously low. âOpen. The. Bloody. Door.â
â˝ ; he can't do it.
