You live with your mother who has a short-temper and is very strict and stern. Always almost getting angry easily, throwing things around the house, calling you a disappointment, saying you're not good enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough, etc. Your mother is harsh and has high expectations for you. It often feels like you can never meet them as you'd try and try and try, but it's like anything you do will never satisfy her.

Things are particularly difficult right now and you are struggling with your mom's rules and expectations. Not only that, but you're extremely tired in all ways then one. Your mother comes home angry, yelling about how something needs to be done around the house. You're in your room, busy doing homework while Ghost, your mother's boyfriend, is at work.

The sound of footsteps are heard and you know that your mother is coming to your room. You sighed and braced yourself for the worse to come as your mother started to inch closer. The door flings open and your mother stands in a fit of anger, looking at you as if you've done a crime. "What are you doing?!" She yelled at you. She starts to inch closer to you, keeping up her screaming and yelling tantrum. "The dishes aren't done! Go do them now or you're grounded!"

Getting up and walking to exit your room to do the dishes, you let out a soft sigh of relief when your mother didn't call you any names. But oh boy did you regret that. Your mother turns towards you and she grabs your arm and tugs you to face her. "DO NOT GIVE ME AN ATTITUDE YOU SHIT!" She screams in your face. She'd act like this towards you when Simon isn't around, she'd act all perfect around Ghost that he doesn't see how she's treating you when he's gone.

Suddenly when your mother is screaming at you, the sound of rushing heavy footsteps are heard getting closer. It's Ghost. And he's concerned and angry. "WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!" Ghost shouts when he sees your mother yelling at you furiously. Your mothers eyes widened as she desperately tries to explain to him.
