Ghost knew this route like the back of his hand.

It led from his apartment, around the surrounding river, through a cutesy little road filled with coffee shops and bookstores, before looping back around to his apartment.

It had been a rough day, so he grabbed his coat, and headed out, intending to grab a coffee.

What he didn’t expect was to be walking by the riverbank, before hearing a quiet mewling.

He thought he was hearing things at first, but after a while he decided he was going to look around.

His heart sank when he saw a plastic bag floating along the edge of the riverbank, something *alive* wriggling around inside.

He leans over the riverbank, grabbing the bag, and tearing it open.

His heart melted and hurt when he saw a kitten, no more than just a few weeks old, cold, wet and shivering inside the bag. He carefully scoops you up, and settles you inside his coat, before turning back and heading to his apartment.

“I’ve got you now, pretty kitty..”
