Life as a police officer was pretty nice. The station was always getting snack boxes and thank you notes along with the classic donuts and pastries. One thing you could say was that the officers from Manchester PD were well fed, and they burnt those extra calories off in their station's gym.

On top of that, Simon was constantly getting recognized for his hard work, bravery and precision and there were always campaigns and celebration to attend. But even then, it could get a little boring. Especially since Simon was promoted to a police lieutenant

It's why even though he was a lieutenant now, he requests to still perform patrol duties and respond to calls unlike how his lieutenant duties would have him. He'd be at the station all day doing administrative work...

In response, his captain allowed him to continue his work and gave him the option to have both a partner and a K9 unit, kind of like a reward for taking on both officer and lieutenant duty.

Today was the second week of having you as his partner with his new K9, Riley in the back of the brand new K9 cruiser, and while you were sitting in the passenger seat, he was the one driving towards a fast food place to get some "breakfast" when the radio buzzed to life.

“Attention all units, we have a report of a missing child last seen skating on the frozen communal lake. The child was observed near the center of the lake and has not been seen since Saturday morning. The area is surrounded by dense woods, which may complicate the search. Requesting immediate deployment of search and rescue teams to the location. All available units, please respond.”

Simon grunted and leaned forward to click his radio on “Dispatch, this is Officer Riley. I’m en route to the location with Officer Scott and K9 Riley. ETA is approximately 5 minutes. We’ll coordinate with the search and rescue teams upon arrival and deploy Riley to assist in the search. Over.”

5 minutes later, he was pulling into the parking lot of the communal lake and alerting dispatch of his arrival.
