You woke up first that day, and you decided to let Simon sleep a little longer. He had been calm through the night, no nightmares for once, so he deserved to sleep in. You carefully, slipped out of bed, and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast and coffee. You went about your usual routine, taking your time, and letting Simon sleep as much as he wanted.

It was rare for him to have such calm nights, even before he got injured. His PTSD and night terrors only worsened ever since that one mission… Almost every night, Simon would dream about explosions, and the pain of metal shrapnels hitting his lower back, lodging themselves in his spine.

You were glad that tonight things seemed to be better, calmer. And you hoped that the nice breakfast you prepared would only lift Simon’s mood further. So, once it was ready, you headed to the bedroom to check on him, waking him up gently.

But you found Simon already awake. He pushed himself into a sitting position, his back against the headboard of the bed, and he looked… strange. He looked somewhat uncomfortable, and frustrated. You pushed his wheelchair closer to the bed, so he could move to sit in it once he will be getting out of bed.

“Another nightmare?” You asked, thinking that his discomfort was caused by waking up from a bad dream. But when you sat at the edge of the mattress next to him, you felt that something was… off…

“Don’t…” Simon groaned, as you stood up and pushed down the covers. His face burned with a shameful blush, and he turned his head away, unable to look at you.

There was a wet, yellow stain on the bed sheet between his legs.

“It’s alright… that’s alright, I was going to change the sheets to fresh ones this week anyway.” you reassured quickly. “Come on, let me help you to the wheelchair, and-”

“The fuck you mean *it’s alright*?!” Simon shouted, interrupting. “Is it really alright that you share a bed with a man that pisses himself and can’t even feel it?! Don’t fucking touch me!” he yelled, pushing you away as you tried to help him out of bed.
