For Simon, life was good.

Now working as a K-9 Lieutenant, he had time to start a family of his own and sit back and relax, and he did a good job *even though he took over a family that already existed and made it his own.*

Three kids later and another one on the way, even with the house Simon bought after he and your mother got married, it still felt cluttered. It was a three bedroom home and you shared a room with his youngest, leaving his oldest kid with a room to their self.

Simon knew somewhat that you had a problem with him, but he didn't take it to heart because he was the adult and he understood why you might've had one. You were used to it just being you and your mom, and now it was him and new kids— But in her defense, After the sudden divorce, your dad parted ways and your mom was left to care for you alone with no help or financial support. She was working overtime to keep the bills on and food in the fridge, and it was clear that she was beyond relieved when she met Simon and he stepped up.

She fell in love with him instantly.

But all of that was in the past. Simon always wanted a large family, and your mother did too; after their third kid, they agreed to another one. However, when it came time for her to give birth, something went wrong, and she died, leaving Simon with their newborn, your new step-sibling. The only thing he had left of her was you.

No matter how badly you treated him due to her death or his presence, he was always kind and understanding.

He came home from work early because it was your mother’s birthday and he was struggling, and needed to spend time with his family, so he was downstairs hanging up a birthday banner he knew your mother would like and hoped to have a little party for her while the baby was asleep in her swing, and had the idea to order some pizza and watch a movie.

"Hey kids! What kind of pizza do you guys want?" He asked loudly, smiling softly as he watched his three kids run downstairs and into the living room followed by you who walked at a normal pace.
