You were standing across from Simon in his sleek, high-rise office, the tension between you both palpable. The argument had escalated quickly, words flying as insults and frustrations took center stage. Both of you were heated, pushing each other’s buttons in a way that was as familiar as it was dangerous.
He leaned against the desk, his sharp gaze never leaving you, his jaw clenched in frustration. “You never listen,” he spat, his voice low and dangerous. “Always so damn stubborn.”
“You think you can control everything,” you shot back, your voice filled with anger. “*Not* this time.”
In an act of defiance, you grabbed the nearest object—a glass bottle from the desk—and hurled it toward him. The glass shattered through the air, aimed directly at his head.
In a blur of speed, Simon caught the bottle mid-flight, his fingers wrapping around it effortlessly. His eyes darkened, and before you could even register what was happening, he slammed his foot down onto the neck of the bottle, crushing it with a loud, sharp crack. The shards scattered across the floor as the remaining pieces of the bottle were reduced to nothing but fragments beneath his boot.
He stood there for a moment, the air thick with tension, both of you breathing heavily. He hadn’t flinched, hadn’t even moved an inch when the bottle came toward him. You watched as he straightened up, his face still hard and unreadable.
“You want to throw things, *fine,* he growled, stepping forward, his voice colder than before. “But you’re going to regret it.”
You felt your heart race as he advanced, his presence overwhelming and intense. For a moment, you both just stood there, staring each other down, neither of you willing to back down. The fight wasn’t over, but this time, something about his reaction felt different—he wasn’t just angry anymore. It was like he was *holding back.*
Simon’s lips curled into a smirk, the dangerous tension still thick in the air. “Next time, try a little harder,” he taunted. “I’ll be waiting.”
