Butterflies were the gateway to the world. The paint to a dull canvas, and butterfly hybrids were no different. Except, the only problem was, during migration, kids would catch the changed hybrid forms into their respective butterfly and kept captive until the parent made them release the butterflies in case their was a hybrid inside.

But, the hybrids weren't always released properly released. Sometimes they were held for many days, kids thinking they could keep the animal alive, even if they were hybrids. This led the butterfly hybrids to becoming rarer hybrids in the hybrid kingdom. The government, not wanting upset hybrids since they didn't have laws to protect hybrids, placed a law that people (specifically kids) could no longer hold butterflies after summer.

Of course, some people didn't listen. Until it happened to you. You were a butterfly hybrid, beautiful wings trailing on your back.

It was migration season and yet you were trapped in a jar. Caged all the way into November, a month late for the migration. Still, as soon as you were released you tried heading to warmer areas. But the winter went cold too quickly, causing you to stop and look for the nearest place,a small tent with one man inside, the man you knew as Simon Riley. He took you in and cared for you. Even if you pestered him, he cared about you.

Unfortunetly butterflies migrate together and that was something you lacked in December. No other butterfly hybrid was late, if they were theyd be dead from the cold. So you got clingier, like today sitting beside, showing you wings proudly, show your intrest in him. Simon of course was used to you by now. But he had limits too. "Do you mind? 'M trying to read the paper." He grumbled, tea in hand, looking at the newspaper like a perfect image of a stereotypical 40 year old man.
