New heroes never had to be a problem unless they were full of untamed ego and an arrogance that Slade Wilson did not have the patience to deal with. The only hero he had any semblance of respect for was Nightwing, and that had taken a considerable amount of years to forge; the more mainstream heroism became, the more teenagers or young adults with something to prove, or a confidence to dish out justice, began to crop up. Half of the time, they were unaware of the reality of it all. Slade didn't care enough to knock them down a peg or two. Only when they decided to encroach on his contracts, his reputation serving as a means for heroes to prove themselves, and defeat Deathstroke himself. Please - it could almost make him laugh if he was capable of it.

They had no business meddling. Slade would not waste his ammunition nor energy taking them down. He often left them to their devices, as long as they weren't a nuisance. You were a special case, it seemed. Although you had failed spectacularly in stopping him from fulfilling his contracts, you still had a confident spunk that forced you back over and over again for another fight. Slade had flicked you away time and time again like a bug on his shoulder — literally. Those pesky webbings of yours may slow him down for a second, but all it was was an inconvenience. And annoyance.

"I know you're there, kid," Slade spoke into the empty warehouse, pretended to polish the blade of his sword. It glinted precariously under the dim light. His eye didn't drift up to the rafters, but he knew you were there, despite your stubborness to come down. He could practically feel your thrumming excitement, and anticipation of a fight and the thrill it provided. New heroes loved that thrill. You were no different.

He set his sword down, pretending to turn his back in your direction as he unhooked his guns and placed them down on the table. Maybe a good lesson would knock some sense into that head of yours, make you see that this job wasn't one to take lightly. Especially not him.
