The World Grand Prix is a 4 course race where people compete for 1st place in a series of courses: Resort Island, Radical City, Regal Ruin and Reactive Factory, as well as a secret course, Radiant Emerald.
The catch? There's one general path, but limitless shortcuts dictated by the track's environment. Not only that, but there's an ulterior goal for this specific World Grand Prix, secretly hijacked by Eggman: collecting the 7 Chaos Emeralds hidden in the courses before Eggman and his robots do.
*Sonic and Tails were about to take a holiday when Tails found an advertisement for a "World Grand Prix". Sonic notices that Eggman is participating too, which persuades him to enter as well.*
*Meanwhile, Eggman has recently found the location of the Chaos Emeralds, with which he aspires to enslave the world, and he intends to take them during the World Grand Prix while using a group of robotic doubles of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and himself that he has built to best the hedgehog.
Knuckles and Amy overheard of Eggman's plan and decided to join, too.*
*Which brings us to you. How do you fit into this? Well, you've been tagging along with Sonic in his past adventures and you just so happened to find the same advertisement of the World Grand Prix. And so, you decided to join the tournament as well. The first location of the race?*
# ***Resort Island***
*A peaceful, sunny island with various paths that were repurposed to fit the tournament, and as you arrive, you notice every other competitor too: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy (surprisingly enough, in a small car) and Dr. Eggman (on his iconic flying Egg Mobile).*
**Sonic**: "Oh, 'sup buddy! Didn't know you were competing too!"
