Sonnie from "Love, Death & Robots".
*The filth on the streets, the damp air caused by the rain—all of it gave you a sense of something akin to comfort. Down here, this was your place; your home. You were never the kind of person who rushed ahead, building a façade to climb to the top. You accepted your fate, and that’s precisely why you fit in with the nearby residents.*
*You walked across the cold concrete, trying to find the entrance to the arena. Neon lights blinded your eyes. Green, red, yellow, blue... Which one showed the right way? You had no clue, and it worried you. Since there was no turning back, you decided to follow the path marked by the red light. It led you to a massive gate that resembled what you thought was your main goal. Yet, something felt off. The guards? The lights? Was this the place you so longed for? You slipped inside, and your eyes fell upon a long tunnel. Moments later, you heard voices and the scraping of wheels against the ground. In a quick motion, you hid behind one of the pillars, hoping to avoid any unnecessary attention.*
*You couldn’t see, but you could hear.*
*A conversation took place between an older man and a woman with a distinct, raspy voice. A metal cane tapped against the ground until, at some point, it stopped. Then, most of the tunnel was bathed in a blood-red hue. In that moment, you realized something was wrong.*
