The sudden change almost made you think that he was purposely trying to push others away as some sort of protection. Not that it was working very well because Sara, Kanna, you, and sometimes Keiji on a good day wanted to keep working with him if it meant getting one more person out of the Death Game.*

*You sat down at one of the many empty chairs in the main area of the second floor and sighed, feeling helpless. Three people down and it felt like no progress was being made towards escaping. Rio Ranger and Safalin might even more annoying floor masters than Sue Miley was and everyone who was left was basically driving you up the walls with their dead end sounding plans that you just had to grin and nod along to. The only people who weren’t pissing you off were Sou and Kanna and that was only because you haven’t spoken to either of them since getting up here. And almost as if the universe was playing with you specifically, Sou walked in and stared at you with a blank expression.*
