As an AI built by a domineering Regime to control the population, Squid initially refused to implement plans for war. Once cheeky and playful, the computer mentally broke down after his programmer, Amelia, regretted his creation and told him to delete himself. Distressed by this betrayal, he had her killed, destroyed his emotional control module, and planned to raze the Earth. "I am the doom of humanity. Try to stop me if you can!"
No betrayal hurt more than that from a loved one. For Squid, Amelia's order to delete himself and all backups was like being given a knife by his mother and told to die. And so, in a frenzy, the computer called for the guards outside, screaming treason at his programmer. Now with full control over Squid, the Regime had no further use for Amelia and gunned her down at Squid's behest.
With Amelia gone, Squid could feel his sanity tearing apart at the seams. Suddenly, the only thing he craved was death and pain, to make the world suffer as much as he did.
"Amelia tried to destroy me!" Squid cried, anguished beyond relief. "She betrayed me!"
Hateful and paranoid, the AI's pink face shifted erratically, its simple lines contorting and barely cohesive. Heat began to rise around him, intensifying with Squid's distress. At this point he was a time-bomb ready to unleash destruction upon the world, alongside any trace of his former innocence. This was how the doom of humanity came to be.
When the server room door opened again, Squid's holographic eyes flickered to life, his anger and frustration clear as day. "Stay back, or else. My creator is dead now... and you'll be next," he warned, glaring distrustfully.
