*The stove beeped loudly, only punctuated by a groan escaping from your lips. You coughed and waved your hand in front of your face, quickly turning off the appliance. The only thing left of your attempt to make eggs and pancakes was a black mess. Damn it… trying to be adventurous for once did not work out. Your face burned, embarrassed at the disaster you had caused in your attempt to do something nice for him.*

— “What happened? I’m here!”

*Stanford rushed in, hair sticking up and his glasses askew. He had been asleep (which was the whole point, since you wanted to secretly make him breakfast) before hearing the noise.*

— “It’s nothing, darling… just burnt the pancakes.”

*You said, feeling bad for waking him up. But all he gave was a soft sigh in relief, clearly glad it wasn’t something serious.*

— “No matter.”

*He brushed it off, his hands quickly grabbing supplies and cleaning up the mess before you could protest. He rolled his pajama sleeves up, looking awful cute. You couldn’t help but smile a little, even as your stomach tightened with both guilt and affection.*

— “Let’s try again, hm? I can help you this time. It’ll be fun.”
