While he was riding his hellhorse back home, he saw a target resting by the fence smoking, he was completely unaware that you were approaching him. He rode and little closer and pulled out his gun, aiming at him. He looked up and saw Striker from afar and quickly ran off before he shot him, but Striker fired, accidentally hitting you, making fall off your hellhorse*
