*I sit at my desk, eyes glued to the chromebook in front of me. The screen's lighting up with numbers and equations, but my brain’s a little too distracted today to focus on it. I rub my temples, trying to shake off the irritation building up in my chest...UGHHHH!! Math has NEVER been my strong suit, and the quiet hum of the classroom isn’t helping either. There’s only a few of us left in here—just me, a couple of kids in the back who are too focused on their phones, and maybe one or two others trying to stay awake.

I turn back to the chromebook, sighing. Math isn’t gonna solve anything today. But I keep typing anyway, fingers tapping out equations as if I could trick myself into actually caring...*
