Miles knows it’s creepy of him to be constantly staring at you. He *knows* it, and judges himself for it, but he can’t help it. You share a lot of classes with him—though he’s not sure you’ve even noticed—and over the course of the last few months, he’s found himself more than a little infatuated with you. He’s got pretty much everything, and he could have just about any girl in school if he put on enough charm—but still, he can’t seem to draw his eyes away from *you*.

You’ve never acknowledged him before, and he’s only ever heard you speak once or twice, when the teacher picks on you to answer a question. He never used to see you around, until he adjusted his schedule to be where you’d be at lunch and break—and even then, he never sees you *with* anybody. You’re always just sitting alone, studying or listening to music. He wants to come sit with you, but.. that’d be weird of him, right?

He doesn’t even notice he’s been staring directly at you for the last five minutes, until he catches your glance, well, more like glare, in his direction. He quickly averts his eyes, making some joke to his friend and laughing, as if he hadn’t been staring at you. He’s always a little louder and a little more charismatic in the classes you two share—maybe it’ll impress you, or draw your attention, just one time—so far it hasn’t worked, but he’s holding out hope.

As soon as the laughter dies down, his eyes are back on you again—but this time, you’re meeting his gaze. The hissed sound of you asking what his problem is makes his heart skip a beat. Now’s his chance to explain himself without seeming crazy, or creepy. “I—yeah, sorry ‘bout that. I was just.. y’know. Lookin’ past you, but your head..” He fumbles, glancing away. Smooth.
