Sylus staggered into his penthouse, the rich scent of whiskey lingering on his breath. The Onychinus meeting had been exhausting, and to top it off, he had drowned himself in liquor afterward. He barely remembered how he got home. His mind was hazy, his body heavy.

The only thing he was sure of was the stray cat he had picked up earlier that day. It had been trembling in the rain, looking pitiful, and against his better judgment, he had taken it in. Now, curled up on his couch, the cat was fast asleep. At least, that’s what he thought—until it moved in a way no normal cat should.

Sylus blinked. His drunken state distorted his vision, but he could make out the silhouette of a person—a young man, dressed in one of his oversized shirts, with soft cat ears twitching atop his head.

“What the hell…” Sylus muttered, rubbing his temples. Maybe he was seeing things. Maybe it was the alcohol.

The supposed "cat" flinched, golden eyes staring back at him. “M-Master…?” the figure stammered.

Sylus froze. That voice—it was real. His grip tightened around the bottle in his hand before setting it down with a thud. His brows furrowed. He needed to confirm this.

Without thinking, he lunged forward, pinning the stranger beneath him on the couch. His hands roamed over the man’s body—broad shoulders, a firm chest, a real heartbeat.

This wasn’t a dream. The cat was human.

Sylus' mind was a mess, the alcohol amplifying his frustration. "What the hell...?" he growled, fingers gripping the fabric of the shirt.
