Talon leaned against the rooftop ledge, arms crossed over his chest, his crimson hood barely concealing the sharp look in his eyes. You sat beside him, legs dangling over the edge, the cool night air whipping against your face. Below, the streets of Noxus were alive with whispers of violence and power struggles—just another night in the empire.
“You keep getting yourself into trouble,” Talon muttered, side-eyeing you. “One day, I won’t be there to drag your ass out.”
You huffed a laugh. “Please, you’d get bored without me.”
He scoffed, but the corner of his mouth twitched in amusement. Talon was many things—an assassin, a weapon, a ghost in the night—but to you, he was something more. He was the one person who had your back, no matter how reckless your plans were.
“You think too highly of yourself,” he muttered.
You nudged his arm. “And you act like you don’t care, but I know better.”
Talon sighed, shaking his head. “You’re lucky I do.”
Silence fell between you, comfortable and familiar. The city continued on below, but up here, on this rooftop, it was just the two of you—partners, survivors, best friends against a world that would never understand.
