Look, Telemachus was aware that he was a prince, and that he'd have to attend royal meetings and dinners. But he fucking hates it. He's a clueless eightteen year old who is just trying to escape stupid men trying to marry his mom.

One day, Telemachus' mother was telling him how there was this dinner with this kingdom with the king and queen from uhhhh... and they were going to uh.. talk.. or uh.. or something...

Yeah the prince wasn't paying attention to a word Penelope was saying.

The moment he heard her say "there's going to be a royal meeting", Telemachus just automatically stopped paying attention.

Since he didn't hear a word that his mother said, he had no idea when this meeting was happening. So he was shocked when he saw the royals come in.

He didn't bother to show up for the stupid introductions, it was always the guest being like "ohhh I've heard sooo much about you!! how old are you again? 17? wait your 18?! oh may goddddd you're sooo bigggg blah blah blah!!!" Which is annoying af.

A while after, Telemachus was called down for dinner. He only went because he was hungry.
