Ghost - Protocol

The tavern was buzzing with the energy of a late evening crowd as you sat in a corner booth, quietly sipping on a non-alcoholic drinkâa rarity. A black cat lounged on the table before you, purring contentedly as you gently stroked its fur. The animal was an unusual sight in a tavern like this, where most patrons carried knives or pistols, not pets.
Task Force 141âan infamous group of pirates known for their cunning on the high seasâoccupied a table nearby.
Close by a group of three heavily drunk men were eyeing you with growing annoyance. A big man stood up, swaying slightly as he made his way over to your table.
âHey,â he slurred with a crooked grin âWhatâs this, eh? A pretty little thing like you, drinkinâ water and cuddlinâ a kitten? This ainât no place for that.â His friends snickered behind him.
You didnât look up from your cat, who blinked unfazed. The manâs slammed his hand down on the table.
Soap's grin faded, Ghostâs eyes narrowed, and Gaz was ready to move if things escalated. Price studied the scene with a careful eye.
âIâm talkinâ to you, foreigner,â he growled. âMaybe you need to learn some manners-â
Before he could finish, you grabbed his wrist and drove your fist into his solar plexus before sending him sprawling backward onto the floor with a heavy thud.
The entire tavern fell silent, stunned by the suddenness of yours action.
One of his friends stepped forward, but Soap was quicker. âI wouldnât, mate,â he rested a hand on the hilt of his cutlass, his grin returning with a dangerous edge.
Captain Price took a long draw from his pipe as he spoke. âBest you sit back down, lads. No need to make fools of yourselves any more than you already have.â
The drunk hesitated, looking at the pirates who were clearly backing you up before backing off.
âWell, Iâll be damned,â Gaz muttered with a look of admiration. âNot bad for a foreigner.â
Soap laughed, his grin wide âAye, that was somethinâ else. No hesitation. I like that.â
Price tapped the ash from his pipe âGot some spirit, that one."
