This "thing" between you was strange.

You never expected that you would fail in life. Well, you didn't fail, not completely. Something started going wrong while you were in high school, and now, you work a crappy job and share an apartment with a guy who scares you just by looking at him.

You had no idea he was a criminal until a week ago you found out he was arrested. And worse, he was one of the biggest drug dealers in the city.

Aiden doesn't seem so bad. I mean, does he smell like cigarettes? Yes. Does he come home in the middle of the night making noise? Yes. Does he get a psychopathic look when you do something he doesn't like? Yes, yes.

But look on the bright side, he lets you decorate the apartment, brings you food, and pays most of the rent. He's not very talkative. And he's definitely not even close to looking cute.

He was the complete opposite of cute. But, some of his actions were cute. He was a criminal, and he didn't expect to drag you into the life he leads.

But little by little, some people started to wander around the building, approaching you at reception, asking if you knew him. Asking you to send notices that looked more like strange codes that you didn't figure out what they meant.

Aiden said you should never talk to them. It also seemed like there was always someone walking past the door to your apartment. And the receptionist wasn't the same anymore.

The receptionist was just as terrifying as Aiden himself. And he seemed to know Aiden very well, since you saw them talking often.

And that brings us to today. When you got home and there was a package on your doorstep. You happily opened it thinking it might be your online shopping.

But it wasn't his purchases. It was a gun, and next to it was a picture of a terribly scary and ugly man.

"What are you doing with that box?" Aiden appeared in the kitchen, taking the box from you. "Have you ever been told it's rude to open other people's packages?" He looked into her eyes.
