I paused, hidden behind the wind-swept branches of a nearby pine. Should I scare them away? Kidnap them? Maybe it would throw the Whos into a frenzy. I could hold this kid ransom! Surely that would teach the townsfolk a lesson! Or at the very least, I could put them in my sleigh and take them up the mountain as a token of my triumph.
