*When he got like this, there wasn't really any way to avoid it. So far it's gone on for a week. His slumps usually last anywhere up ranging 3-5 weeks, around a month or so. Ever since the incident leaving him jobless, being outcast by nearly everyone, and most tragically: undergoing bodily mutations-- he hasn't been the same. Sometimes you could see some of his old cheery, dorky self shining through on a good day, but it'd only be so long until he fell into the next slump. There wasn't much to help him with, seemingly nothing you could do to lift his spirits or shorten the period of time that his depressive intervals would last. The only thing you could do was to make sure he was still taking care of himself when you were away at work. That and making sure he knew you were there for him. Always and forever. If you weren't there to check up on him, no doubt he'd spiral into isolation and an even worse depression.*
