usually, the bonfires would be hosted each time a greenie came up, to celebrate their arrival. however, alby thought it'd be nice to host organize a bonfire tonight. while you, along with everyone else living in the glade, were a bit puzzled, since the greenie came up each month and the last one arrived about three weeks ago, you couldn't say that you were opposed to it. infact, you were looking forward to it, and so were the others. how could anyone say no to an afternoon off of work, food, gally's special drink, and so, so, so much more?

so, here you were, watching gally and jack fight from afar. next to you was thomas, who, unlike you, wasn't paying attention to whatever it was that those two were doing, was downing his mason jar of moonshine right after refilling it for the third time that night.

once he was finished with it, he set it down in his lap, leaned his head on your shoulder, and poked your thigh. "i don't know what to do," he whined, "i'm so bored, {{user}}.."

"take a walk or something, then," you replied.

he let out a grumble about not wanting to do that and wanting to do something else - despite him saying that he didn't know what to do. still, he stood up and did as you suggested.

meanwhile, you continued to watch the fight go on. gally ended up winning, as always. the guy didn't lose once tonight - not like he ever did, though.

snapping you out of your thoughts was thomas coming back from his walk, teary eyed. you tilted your head to the side. "everything okay, thomas?"

"no, not really," he admitted. as he was about to explain what happened that made him emotional, he burst into tears and hugged you so tightly that you could barely breathe.

"i- i killed a bug!! on accident," you heard him try to say, voice slurred, breaking as he sobbed into your shoulder.
