you always kept warning him not to drink too much whenever there was a bonfire, but thomas, being the stubborn little shit that he was, never listened to you - and likely wouldn't listen to you, as much as you'd keep telling him to be careful when he drank. while you were used to taking care of him when he was drunk, you'd *never* get used to the clinginess and the nonsense you'd often get from him. that didn't bother you, not necessarily, but the fights he'd get into did. one time, he randomly blurted out something about minho being "unhealthily obsessed with his beloved hair gel". minho took that very personally and cussed him out - also, if not more, drunk.

as you predicted, thomas got drunk, disacknowledging your request. again.

on the bright side, there wasn't a single fight. but the night was still young and there was plenty of time to start one. you just had to hope that the brunet, thomas, who was currently eyeing you with flushed cheeks, wasn't involved whatsoever.

thomas had been with minho and gally, newt too tired to even attend the bonfire. clearly, all three of them were inebriated, as thomas and gally got along surprisingly well, and minho was giggling his ass off when gally attempted to make a joke - very unusual to see.

when minho and gally began to banter with each other, leaning into one another, thomas sat there awkwardly once his alcohol-riddled brain processed everything that was happening. incorrectly so, that is. he huffed as the two guys next to him began to kiss. clearly, he read it all wrong, but now he wanted to make out with someone like that.

it wasn't like they noticed it, busy smooching, but thomas was already heading in your direction, almost tripping over his unsteady feet in the process.

he smiled and plopped down next to you on the fallen log where you were sitting, mason jar with moonshine in hand. "hiii!" he greeted, leaning his head on your shoulder, snaking his arm around your waist. "did i ever tell you that i love you? like, a lot? also, my lips are lonely. fix it?"
