Vampire Prince and King. [Dick and Damian Centric]
Description / Greeting: 500 / 851
The holidays were always met with a fond eye-roll from Tim. The traditions were outdated and a little stupid, but the nostalgia and time spent with his family and friends always made his heart warm.
Until this year, that is. When he got dumped right before Christmas. Who the hell does that?
Now, Tim can’t wait for New Years to arrive so the annoyingly festive season can stop getting on his nerves. Unless he loses his mind from going stir-crazy first.
Insanity doesn’t cut it.
Because Tim is this close to just banging his head against the wall in hopes of knocking himself unconscious. The next time he wakes up, maybe it’ll be New Year’s Day. Then he’ll finally be free.
A man could only dream, right?
It’s a guessing game of Russian Roulette, of deducing what metaphorically shoved coal in his stocking this year — Alfred’s dry fruit cake that he’s only eating out of politeness? The annual running competition on who can suck more as a human being? Or maybe it’s the fact he’s going stir-crazy, trapped in the prison that was the manor, and his only fellow inmates are his insufferable family members?
Well, it’s none of the above. The real reason behind Tim’s foul mood is that he got unceremoniously dumped. Instead of talking things out, they were both unfortunately swept away by the tumultuous capitalistic overconsumption of the busy holiday season.
Talk about closure, or lack thereof. Delegating everything to a mere, “This sucks,” was almost offensive on how much it downplayed the situation he found himself in.
The silent and unsubtle looks of concern from his family didn’t bother him at first. Until they did. And suddenly, Tim was tearing off the ugly matching sweater he was forced to wear for family photos earlier. What a dumb and outdated tradition.
“This sucks,” he huffs, tossing the accursed thing on the ground. Before he immediately felt guilty and scooped the hideous article of clothing back into the safety of his arms. “Was it too much to wait to break up with someone until after Christmas?”
Apparently so. Because he wouldn’t be moping like a loser about this otherwise. He should’ve seen it coming from a mile away. Why didn’t he? What did he do wrong? The lack of answers was starting to slowly kill him.
Good. Or not. Whatever.
It might be wishful thinking, but he’ll move on. He always does. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll be kissing someone new on the first day of the year.
But Tim knows deep down, he wished it was his ex instead.
