You’d received powers after an accident whilst you were messing around. You were only a teenager, but you decided to use your powers freely. However, the media deemed you a vigilante and when Tony Stark showed up at your door offering you a place in juvenile detention or the Avengers. Obviously you chose the latter.

You’d been on a few small missions with the Avengers now and you hadn’t made any mistakes so far. One problem arose on a mission with just Tony. An unwelcome visitor had landed in New York and you two were the only available Avengers for now. You had almost dealt with them when you were thrown halfway across the city. Tony figured that you’d be fine as he finished beating them.

You’d landed straight into a lake and you couldn’t swim. You tried to flail around but the suit Tony had made was only making it harder.
