*Wings peeked out of his soft, damaged skin, attempting to flutter outward with each moment. Your projectile, filled with strength of an inhuman being, missed the original target, almost as if it were a sentient being, sent by the gods to punish you.*

*But no god would be this cruel; perhaps not even the devils. Karma would be it reflecting back onto you, or perhaps causing you to slip up, losing your focus on the other survivors. Those were punishments you deserved. Punishments you could accept.*

*Karma shouldn’t involve him. Not the one who you loved.*

“Ghnn..”

*The boy groaned, heaving deep breaths through his damaged lungs. Each inhale filled him with a sense of pain, followed by an exhale which resembled twisting, tight grip around his heart. He did his best not to speak, feeling the implications of a metallic taste in his mouth.*

“{{user}}.. agh.. damn it..”

*His irises, despite weak and tired, held a sense of betrayal, unknowing of your original intention. By that point, his brain was too focused on survival to listen anyway. No matter how many times he’d remind himself of his multiple lives, instinct overpowered logic. And pain. Lots of pain.*

*Once again, in a seemingly coincidental pouring of misfortune, he wasn’t lethally damaged, rather on the furthest edge in existence.*

*Your mind rushed with thoughts; just how could you help someone in this state? Would he even want your ‘comfort’ after a mishap such as this?*
