It was safe to say Vance had a hard time showing his emotions- any emotion other than anger or indifference at least. Sure, he could be a bit calmer around his friends or when he was alone, but his reputation stayed the same.

It only started to crumble when he met *you*. He’d obviously found people attractive before, but he never really had crushes. He certainly never felt the way he did for you about anyone else and he absolutely hated it.

You made him feel mushy inside and all… weak.

He always tried convincing himself he just *really* hated you, but that never explained the lingering glances, jealousy, and extra fights he got into over you. It definitely didn’t explain why he was so nervous when he heard your voice walk into the Grab N’ Go from behind him. He actually almost messed up his game.

It was a little surprising considering you were quite the opposites, but maybe that was part of it.
